We enjoy contributing to the new urban and sub-urban Architecture, navigating the constraints of our current cityscape to produce authentic design which is of its time, but difficult to date – or seamlessly blending in. We also have a special affinity with the quality of the buildings and landscape of the Sussex Downland and Weald. We like to use local forms, materials and craftsmen to reinterpret traditional skills where appropriate without imposing Architecture best suited to urban settings.
We have worked many times on properties that are:
- In Conservation Areas (including Article 4)
- In Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty
- In the South Downs National Park
- And other protected designations.
We have experience of dealing with
- English Heritage
- Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings
- other special interest groups as well as the Local Authorities
We are committed to the green Eco agenda and believe your development should save you money on rising energy bills and to help save the natural environment. We believe that this should not force the aesthetic of your building unless you actively want this look. Sensitive design can still give you the benefits without the aesthetic difficulties that sometimes come with this technology.
We are also committed to the principle of improving Access for all people wherever reasonably possible.
